Compressed Air Energy Audit
Compressed air is usually the most expensive utility in a plant and the least measured. A ProParts energy audit puts numbers on it: how many kilowatt-hours your compressors use, how much of that air leaks before it reaches a tool, how much pressure you lose in the pipe, and what it would save to fix each one. Plants we have audited have cut compressed air energy use by up to 40 percent.
What the audit measures
- Compressor load, unload and run hours, logged over a full production cycle.
- Leak survey of the distribution system with each leak tagged and sized.
- Pressure drop from the compressor room to the furthest point of use.
- Dryer and filter condition, dew point and differential pressure.
- Demand profile, so the compressor size and control mode match the plant.
What you receive
A written report with the current cost of your compressed air, the savings available from each fix, and a quote for the ones we recommend. Some fixes are a wrench and an afternoon; some are a controller setting; some are a smaller compressor. The report says which.
Frequently asked questions
How long does an audit take?
Logging runs over a full production cycle, usually one week, plus a day on site for the leak survey and readings.
Do I have to buy anything?
No. The report stands on its own. Most plants start with the leaks and pressure drop, which cost the least to fix.
